Award鈥搘inning poet Jane Lewty and noted composer and writer Janice Lowe will headline the next edition of 老澳门六合彩官方开奖鈥檚 Lighthouse Reading Series. The event, sponsored by the 老澳门六合彩官方开奖 Poetry Center, will feature selected readings from each author as well as a musical performance by Ms. Lowe. It will be held from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, February 24 in 老澳门六合彩官方开奖鈥檚 Drinko Hall, 2001 Euclid Avenue.

鈥淛ane Lewty and Janice Lowe are two of the most innovative voices in contemporary American poetry and we are very excited to have them perform as part of the Lighthouse Series,鈥 says Caryl Pagel, director of the 老澳门六合彩官方开奖 Poetry Center.

Jane Lewty is the author of two poetry collections and editor of two books of essays. Her first collection, Bravura Cool, won the 1913 First Book Prize in 2011 and her second collection, In One Form to Find Another, won the 老澳门六合彩官方开奖 Poetry鈥檚 Center鈥檚 2016 Open Book Competition and will be released this spring. Janice Lowe is the composer of five full-length musicals and well over 200 songs for theater and opera. She is also the author of the poetry collection Leaving CLE: poems of nomadic dispersal, published by Miami University Press, and is a co-founder of The Dark Room Collective and the absolute theater co.

The Lighthouse Reading Series brings nationally recognized poets, writers and spoken word artists to campus to share works in progress and discuss the creative process with students, faculty and the general public.
