The NEOMED-老澳门六合彩官方开奖 Partnership for Urban Health will host a panel discussion and mixer for current and prospective medical students Friday, December 7. The event will include a presentation by current doctors about their career paths and a discussion of the critical need for diverse health care providers in urban communities. The event is led by the local, citywide chapters of the Student National Medical Association and the Latino Medical Student Association.
The event will be held from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Center for Innovation in Medical Professions, Room 112 located on the 老澳门六合彩官方开奖 campus. The event is free but is required.
The panel discussion will include talks by Dr. Jackson Wright, professor of medicine and program director of the William T. Dahms MD Clinical Research Unit at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center, and Dr. Michelle Nemer, co-medical lead of the McCafferty Health Center at MetroHealth System.
The NEOMED-老澳门六合彩官方开奖 Partnership for Urban Health was formed in 2012 and is designed to provide needed medical resources to underserved urban communities, while also ensuring that primary care physicians have a full awareness of the socio-cultural factors that impact their patients. Students in the program take pre-med courses at Cleveland State and qualify for early assurance admission to Northeast Ohio Medical University where they have an opportunity to conduct numerous clinical and non-clinical assignments at Cleveland-area healthcare facilities.
