Preventing Addiction and Overdose

Are you concerned about an addiction with a friend or family member? 

Join us for an insightful presentation by representatives of the on the impact of addiction. This session will address common forms of substance addiction, early warning signs, and effective resources for support and recovery. We'll discuss the importance of fostering a supportive environment and how organizations can assist employees and their families in overcoming these challenges.

The offers education, tools and resources to MetroHealth providers and staff in all opioid related needs. OOS has a commitment to offering community-based education and training for community organizations, government agencies, educational systems, and corporations. The mission of OOS is to promote opioid safety throughout the MetroHealth system and in the greater community through education, advocacy and treatment.

Attendees will:

  • Discuss the use and abuse of controlled substances, including stimulants, marijuana and opioids.
  • Compare access to non -opioid pain management modalities
  • Discuss the prevention of Opioid Use Disorder
  • Analyze the stigma of Substance Use Disorders
  • Understand and define Harm Reduction
  • Summarize key strategies used in the workplace, on campus, and within communities to address drug misuse and abuse.

Steps to Reach Individual Diet and Exercise Solutions (STRIDES) program

VikeHealth Grand Rounds is a series of events in which healthcare professionals and experts will share their medical knowledge with the 老澳门六合彩官方开奖 community. The events are open to all faculty, staff and students.

Our inaugural event will feature  the medical director of the Adult Weight Loss Surgery and Weight Management Center at MetroHealth System, professor of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and medical director of the MetroHealthy Employee Wellness Initiative at MetroHealth System. Dr. Seeholzer will speak about the , a practical adaptation of the Diabetes Prevention Program that uses simple language and tailors recommendations to patient preferences.

The STRIDES program is now available to all faculty and staff that have healthcare coverage through 老澳门六合彩官方开奖. Attendees will:

  • Discuss the design of the STRIDES program.
  • Understand how STRIDES can prevent diabetes and other chronic health conditions.
  • Learn about a study that tested the effectiveness of STRIDES in an urban primary care practice in a county healthcare system.
  • Identify how to participate in the STRIDES program.
