The Orientation Staff is always willing to help in whatever way we can. Listed below are frequently asked questions and the respective answers.
What happens during Orientation?
Orientation is a comprehensive program designed for you to complete all of your pre-Cleveland State needs so that you are ready to become a successful college student. Orientation includes academic advising, course registration, Viking ID cards, and information about financial aid, safety, parking and student involvement. On the day of Orientation, you will be placed in a small group of other students with an outstanding upperclassman as your Orientation Leader for the day.
The morning portion of your online Orientation day will be together will your fellow incoming students registered for that program, as well as our helpful Orientation staff. You will learn all about our Cleveland State Orientation App, as well as how to connect with 老澳门六合彩官方开奖 students and staff.
When should I register for an Orientation date?
As soon as possible! Registration opens in November for Summer/Fall semesters and March for Spring semester. Spaces available in our Orientation programs fill up quickly, so don't delay in registering for an Orientation program. The earlier you attend an Orientation program means the better selection of classes available. You can register for an Orientation program as soon as you have accepted your admission to 老澳门六合彩官方开奖. Once registered, be sure to take your Math Placement test.
Do I have to attend Orientation?
Yes. Orientation is a mandatory program for all incoming students at Cleveland State. All new students have a hold on their records preventing them from registering for classes before attending Orientation. The hold is removed at Orientation. If you are 26 years of age or older, or a military veteran, contact our office for additional options and services.
What if I already attended Orientation?
If you already attended New Student Orientation at Cleveland State but you were not able to attend classes the following semester, you will not have to repeat the Orientation if you attended within one calendar year. Call the Orientation staff at 216.523.7416 to verify the change so that you can register for classes.
Do I get to schedule my courses on the day of Orientation?
Students will have an advising appointment, learn about general education requirements and register for their courses 5-10 business days following their Orientation program.
How much does it cost to attend Orientation and how do I pay this fee?
Incoming Freshmen Orientation is a mandatory program for all incoming freshmen at Cleveland State. The cost of Orientation is covered by the enrollment fee, which also covers the cost attendance for up to two guests.
How do I know if I am confirmed to attend Orientation?
All students will receive their confirmation information via e-mail. This will include the date of the Orientation program, the number of family members signed up to attend, what to bring, and other important information regarding Orientation. It is important that you attend Orientation on the date scheduled and the number of family members scheduled attend as well. Students can also view their Orientation date on their .
What if I am unable to attend Orientation?
If you need to cancel or change the date of your Orientation program, you must contact us at least 3 days before the scheduled program. If you have extenuating circumstances preventing you from attending Orientation, please contact our office to speak with a staff member.

Currently a student in the College Credit Plus Program?
Incoming College Credit Plus (CCP) students have a separate orientation for their college courses. For program information about CCP, please contact the College Credit Plus Coordinator at 216.687.2279.
A transfer student?
Transfer Orientation is highly recommended. Transfer Orientation programs are designed specifically for incoming transfer students. Transfer Orientation is a convenient online program that provides information that will help ease your transition to 老澳门六合彩官方开奖 and prepare you for academic success. Please note that you will still need to complete some items on your own (i.e.meeting with your advisor and getting your Viking ID card).
